Detta 10,146 m2 plot of land is located in the upper part of the village of Binissalem in an area known as Can Arabí, which is an area on the boarder of the wooded foothills of the Sierra Tramuntana in Mallorca and it offers picturesque views over the central part of the island of Mallorca. The present buildings of 94m2 on the land probably date from around 1785 and they are a rare type of construction in the island of Mallorca often this type of construction is an independent chapel part of a much larger estate, the vaulted ceilings which can be seen in the images of the present buildings and have been incorporated into the project are very typical of chapels that were use to bless animals and crops on the large agricultural estates in Mallorca. The property has a cistern for collecting rainwater from the roof which was built in 1968, a hand-dug water well dating from around the early 1800s. There is an electricity meter at the edge of the land, and solar panels can be installed as apart of the project which has been granted.
Building permit which was granted at the end of 2024, has a two-year deadline for construction, this time frame can be extended by making an application to the planning department of the town hall. The proposal for the project is for a property of 214m2. With an open plan living space on the ground floor and a double bedroom with its own en suite bathroom. On the first floor there are two further bedrooms both of them doubles both of them with their own en suite bathroom, the master bedroom has a private terrace. The lounge dining room on the lower floor both have access to a proposed covered dining area which would have views across the land and down towards the interior of the island. The present project doesn’t include an application for a swimming pool it would be possible however to add an above ground pool with a decked area to the terrace below the property as part of the landscaping of the terrace land sloping towards the road.
Can Arabí is a particularly quiet part of the countryside surrounding Binissalem and has many large and prestigious properties all of which enjoy panoramic views down towards the village with its church spire and out towards the countryside. This project would particularly suit a writer or an artist or nature lover looking for the convenience of a village with good transport connexions and any amenities that you could wish for but who wants a quiet rural retreat within walking distance of the village.
